Meet the team

Sarah has a Level 5 Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Counselling Children. As a qualified Mountain Leader, she is particularly interested in helping young people to foster a connection with nature, to support their well-being and develop resilience. Sarah is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Sarah uses a research-based protocol from Transactional Analysis (TA) specifically for the treatment of mild to moderate depression and anxiety. TA therapy has demonstrated effectiveness that was comparable to other therapies which are recognised as empirically supported for the treatment of depression. Sarah is also trained in integrative psychotherapy, which means her approach draws on theories from many different schools of thinking within psychotherapy and counselling, including transactional analysis, person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), gestalt and body work. Sarah is now up and running as part of our sessional therapy team to work directly with young people aged 11+ suffering with poor mental health that is affecting their ability to deal with day to day living and well-being. What we are really excited about at CCB is that Sarah is able to work creatively and flexibly with the needs of each individual client. This can include a unique combination of traditional therapy room setting AND outdoor therapy. Sarah’s background includes working with survivors of abuse and people experiencing homelessness. She also has experience of working with children individually and in groups, in private practice and schools. “CCB’s holistic approach to supporting people is refreshing.
